Dr DAVID RANKIN
MBBS (hons), MPH, FRACGP
Dr David Rankin graduated with honours from Sydney University. He subsequently undertook his residency at the then new Westmead Hospital and over five years gained experience in a number of fields including internal medicine and paediatrics. Following a period of locum work, in 1985 he and his wife, also a general practitioner, took over a long established practice in Windsor NSW, eventually amalgamating with another group practice. David gained his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 1989 and remains involved with the College as a senior examiner. In recent years he took up an administrative role in medicine but continued to practice at Windsor part time, prior to starting at North Sydney Doctors.
To expand his interest in preventive medicine and population health, David successfully completed a Master of Public Health degree at Sydney University in 2010. In addition to preventive medicine, he is interested in the broad scope of general practice, particularly internal medicine and mental health.
Outside of medicine, David enjoys walking to stay fit and taking in a movie when possible. He would love to replace his previous walking companion, a Labrador, but space at home does not currently permit. David has two adult children who are both pursing their own careers.
